MY THOUGHT

I do not have answers to all questions. Therefore, I will answer the questions accordingly and honestly. I do not want to be voted by cheating answering questions affirmatively all the time just to get elected and then, (once elected) let the residents of Thunder Bay down. I will look after the concerns one at a time/one day at a time. I do not intend to get stress out and I will do my best as a Councillor At Large to help the citizens going towards a better future. The citizens' concerns can be presented during the Public Meetings at City Hall in the form of Deputations and Presentations (always better as a group). You can also contact me at anytime and I will return your call/message within one/two days or less.

DEVELOPMENT

I think that first of all, we cannot build the Event & Convention Centre if we do not have funding to do this.

As for the infrastructure, such as the streets, there are streets with so much repaired potholes and so bumpy that they should be redone.  I don't think that the property taxes should be increase for at least 2 to 3 years. Why? To counteract the effect that there are previous years where the property taxes were increase and no repairs were done. There are ways to raise money to counteract this specific problem.  

RACISM

We should have a three-day during the year like on this video to get people of all races together:

Peoples' Social Forum "Love and Unity". This video shows an event held in Ottawa this last August (2014).

 

CRIME

Crime is an important issue. My thought is that all homeless should be looked after. We need a

building with high capacity to bring them all in. We need one in rural area. This could include a

detoxification area (for drug addicts and alcohol addicts), Life Skills and Anger Management,

Makeover, Job Services, Housing  (they will have to be sent outside of Thunder Bay to make sure

they will not go back to their old environment where they got addicted in the first place). They will

leave with information such as where to get food, second-hand clothes, etc.

SUBSIDIZED HOUSING

We need women in the DSSAB. There is none at the moment. We need women's point of view

to help the families living in those and we need more subsidized housing because the list and the

wait is too long.

 

SENIORS HOMES

I got to know that our seniors are mistreated in a few residences. We need to train the new and old staff with life skills to show the seniors respect. For those seniors who can't no longer move, I would like to start giving them 3-D Virtual Reality glasses. I can tell you that seeing staff around you and not be able to move is not a way to end your life. That's why Virtual Reality is the best way.
